July 2010 Carrigtoohill IWOI enactment
This page is still under development at December 2010. do come back soon!
Here are some pics (and soon, some articles too!) of our work portraying the various aspects of Crown Forces in Ireland during the Irish War Of Independance- from the regular army, to the early and late Auxiliaries, from the RIC to the infamous "Black and Tans". As we remember those who fought for independance, we also bring the memory of the forces arranged against them to mind without prejudice or favour, as part of the Munster Military Re-enactment Group's commitment to historical accuracy.

Above you can find photos of some of the groups work in IWOI. Some are shots of skirmishes at the Annual Duncannon Military Show in County Wexford, and some were taken during filiming of the short feature "In the Valley of Knockanure" which won the Cork and Kerry film festivals in 2009.
You will see portrayals of some of our friends as Flying Column, and representations of members of the RIC (Royal Irish Constabulary), the British Army, Auxiliaries, and the infamous "Black and Tans"
